Active Junky Interview

Hey guys,
I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to throw up this interview that was published by Active Junky about me.  It is a website that does gear write ups but also interviews athletes and organizations. It talks about my plans for the season with Telemark Skier Magazine as well as what gear I will be using.  Here is the link: http://www.activejunky.com/thefix/Kjell-Ellefson-telemark-skier-magazine

Also I have an athlete page on facebook that I will be updating often starting in the next couple weeks as things get rolling. You can become a fan of it here : https://www.facebook.com/kjellellefsonskiing

Thanks and enjoy!

The Playground Chronicles-Season 2 Intro Sneak Peek

Hello there!
Just wanted to throw up another treat for all the readers. Filmed the other week, we thought this new intro would add a little spice to already spicy webisodes.  It will be the 1min and 30sec intro to every episode we have this year.  Hope you enjoy!
(and for those of you who don't get our humor this is sarcastic haha)

"Loyalty" Movie Trailer

Hello again!
This will be a quick post.  I wanted to throw up the movie trailer for Telemark Skier Magazine's new film "Loyalty." I am not in the movie this year due to breaking my leg with surgery in December, but I do have some shots that I filmed that are in the trailer.
It is posted below.
I have also previously posted this on my Facebook fan page.  If you wanted to be more updated in a social network way instead of a blog manner, you can become a fan of my athlete page at https://www.facebook.com/kjellellefsonskiing or follow me on twitter: @kjellellefson.
Thanks!

Big Changes and a Wedding

Hello Everyone,
I have a little change of the blog to announce.  The blog will no longer be solely a photography blog.  I have decided to change it to also incorporate blog posts about my skiing life and other things and thus have dubbed the new blog "Kjell Ellefson Territory."
If you are not already here, the new blog address is http://kjellellefsonterritory.blogspot.com/

So even though this is now a skiing/photo/life blog, in typical fashion, I am going to post some photos of a wedding I shot in late August.  I have been so busy lately that I haven't had much time to blog but I thought it was about time to get some posts up.  So posted below are just some of my favorites, and certainly not all, of the photos I shot at the LeFever Wedding in Lafayette, CO. Enjoy and stay tuned for more updates in the near future!

Breckenridge Mural Shoot

Long time no post!
But anyways, I was hired by Leona Brownson to shoot a painted mural that is going to be hung in a coffee shop called Clint's on main street in Breck. It was painted on 12 panels that were 8'X4'.  The photos then needed to be photoshopped together and stitched together because the panels did not exactly line up.
The mural depicts the four seasons of Breckenridge changing throughout the Ten Mile Range starting with summer and ending with spring.
The panels should be installed in the coffee shop soon and I will post an update when it is finished.
I will be posting more photos soon as the hiatus of having a broken camera is now over!!

Summer Shoot with Sylvan Ellefson

Hey!! Long time no post.
I haven't been using my camera much lately but I am planning on getting on it more.
Yesterday I headed up to Cordillera, CO to do a sunset shoot of my brother roller skiing.  As you may or may have not seen before, I have made a winter poster for him but he wanted something that showed his training in the summer. I am pretty pumped on the results as this is my first time using my flash outside during sunset.
He is also part of a skiing team out of Vail, CO called "Team HomeGrown." I am including a poster I whipped up quickly in photoshop that is pretty comical for you movie fans out there.
I also have started a facebook photography page that I would greatly appreciate if you became a fan of, especially if you read my blog.  It can be seen here https://www.facebook.com/kjellellefsonphotography
Hope you enjoy the photos and I will be posting more soon!

Denver2Night Coverage

Hey there,
I recently was contracted by Denver2night, a nightlife events promotion company, to cover occasional events going on in the greater Denver Area.  I wont be posting every event I cover because they aren't the artistic or type of photography I want to be posting on my blog.  I just wanted to update people on my new job and what has been going on.
The photos can be viewed on the Denver2Night website.  My first job was the opening of a Sneaker store in downtown called "Sneaks."
Also I recently created a Facebook business page so you should to https://www.facebook.com/kjellellefsonphotography to check out more photos and "like" the page.
I will be posting more photos soon!

Kolby Ward Spring Edit

Another quick post this week!
This spring I took a couple days to meet up with my good friend Kolby Ward and test out my new camera.  Kolby is a name to remember as this hard working kid is coming up in the game.  He is so easy to film with because he does what ever trick on what ever feature and gives me some rider insight on what he thinks a cool shot or angle would be.  Without further ado the edit is posted below. (again click the link on the video to go to the original to watch it in HD.)  Also if you have an account please rate it a 10 and throw a comment on there on Newschoolers!

I have been shooting mostly video but I plan to go back to some 50/50 videos and photos coming up here soon.
 Stay Tuned!

The Playground Chronicles-April Episode

Hey everyone,
Here is another video I have been working on. My friends and I have just been goofing around with the camera this past winter and have come out with two episodes. Because of my broken leg in December we haven't had a lot of time to film since I am usually the one behind the camera and hence why I am also not skiing in them. Here is the latest one. (if you watch it in youtube by clicking the title of the video you can change it to HD by changing the 360p on the bottom right hand to 720p for full screen viewing pleasure.)
Also I posted the first episode below as well.
Enjoy!

"Conversation" Dance Video

Last Summer I filmed a short dance video for my friend Larkin Poynton.  It has taken me a while but I finally got to finishing it for him.  I know this post doesn't have any photos but I like to do a healthy mix of photos and videos to keep my skills sharp. Here is one of many videos to come in the next couple weeks.

Gnu Flat Light Shoot at Breckenridge

First post of April!
So this weekend I went up to Breckenridge Resort to take some photos.  My buddy Alex Bayer rides for Gnu Snowboards and needed a couple shots of him on his 2012 Danny Kass Pro Model board.  The forecast called for a mostly sunny Friday and Saturday but you know Colorado weather.  It was over cast and lightly snowing all day with very warm temperatures.  Here are some of the shots that I came up with for the day.  They might be posted on the Gnu blog so ill keep you updated on that.  This was my first chance to use my new Canon 7D and I couldn't be more in love.  Last weekend I did a lot of videoing so I'll post some edits up here soon!

Backcountry and Telemark Skier Mags Testing at Powder Mountain, UT

Hey everybody,
So this past week I was called out to Eden, UT (just north of Salt Lake) to do some ski testing for Backcountry and Telemark Skier Magazines.  With an all expenses paid trip and a whole lodge rented out to all of the testers, it was a fantastic week of skiing.  For me personally it was good to get back to skiing powder how I always have.  My skiing has been limited because of my leg but its was feeling fantastic last week.  I wanted to share some B-Roll shots again as I did take a couple of shots this week I plan on submitting to some magazines.  The shots of the skis with model were for a preview that was featured on the Telemark Skier Mag facebook and the rest of the shots were to be featured on an update on their website.  The ones that were chosen can be seen on the Telemark Skier Mag website and the rest are posted below.  I am planning on purchasing a new camera this week so stay tuned for some new photos and videos.
